“... We hired The Mixx, or The Reagan Years as we know them, for our June 2018 wedding in Leesburg. We have always known about The Reagan Years because we have been to many of their ticketed shows at the Tally Ho Theater in downtown Leesburg and always had a blast. Sy, the band manager/drummer, was accommodating and worked with us on a prepared set list for them to play that had songs that we liked. They were always professional and Sy even came to our venue walk through a month before our wedding to make sure everything went according to plan on our big day. They also did all of our bridal party introductions at the start of the reception and created an appropriate playlist to play over the speakers during dinner. A great thing about them was my husband wanted to dance to a specific song with his mom, and they learned how to play the song for them! It was really great because my husband and mother-in-law invited everyone to the dance floor in the later part of their song and the band went right in to their set afterwards with a packed dance floor. The Mixx absolutely killed it during our wedding. Our dance floor was packed all night and so many people commented on how awesome our band was!!! They play all the classic 80's songs and will play other current day music as well! You will absolutely have a packed dance floor with this band at your wedding and I would recommend them to anyone!!”

"Booking The Reagan Years was the BEST decision I made for our wedding. They are a truly awesome group, who made our reception a huge, huge hit! I was nervous because we had a lot of out-of-town guests who I wanted to make sure had fun. I can't even explain the number of people who have told me since the wedding that it was the most fun wedding they've ever attended. And it's all because of The Reagan Years! People LOVED the band. Not only can they sing, but they know how to perform. They had everyone from age 4 to 84 dancing their hearts out for hours (and even on stage!). Sy, the band leader and our MC for the night, was truly great to work with. He was 100% accessible and always quick to respond. His input and advice were extremely helpful when planning our reception. My husband and I have been fans of TRY for years. While attending one of their shows in late summer, I joked about hiring them for my “nifty” birthday coming in January. We both just laughed! I never gave the notation another thought. Until walking into a room months later with people yelling “Surprise” & The Reagan Years set up and ready to play! While TRY’s musical talent is always impressive, the personal touch they added to my party took them to a whole other level in our opinion!
My husband shared that Sy (drummer/booking contact) made the process of booking the band seamless. The Reagan Years does not disappoint. We booked them for a corporate event and to say that it was a success is an understatement. 1. Band Leader communication with client (song selection process, how easy/difficult to reach leader, knowledge/ability to discuss the engagement with band leader)
I worked closely with Sy and he was info dative, clear and helpful. We spent quite some time going over the tracks that would be played so that I (the bride) would be most happy with the outcome...and I was!
2. Band's performance (accurate with promotional material, band attire/presentation, was production adequate for the setting, etc.)
Everyone in the band totally rocked out! Each person in the band contributed In a big way, whether it was vocals, special solos with their instrument or, as I like to say.... "Just rockin out". It was super amazing that we (bride and groom) were asked to sing and dance up on stage. We enjoyed being included and so did out guests.
3. Band flexibility (ability to respond to musical requests or shift in timeline, etc.)
Fantastic. Absolutely, fantastic. We feel like The Reagan Years event above and beyond for us, we truly do.
4. Details (song requests, special introduction, etc.) that the band promised and did those happen as expected?
It was amazing that the band was able to clear our first song- Glycerine by Bush. It made our evening very social and our first song, we can say in confidence, will be like nobody else's. The introduction and continual talking throughout the sets with and for huge bride and groom were incredible. Everything happened better than expected. We also appreciated the band being able to play our song requests via iPod when the band was on a break.
I think I said it best when I said the band "f@$#ing rocked" I hope that wasn't too crass, but you all were amazing. You made our wedding special and memorable and EVERYONE had a blast. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. Much love!

I had the pleasure of working with The Mixx during a corporate event August, 2012. I had hired them to play a 4 hour party that was directly following a convention. Before the event, they provided excellent communication and direction. They took it upon themselves to ensure the venue had the right equipment, relayed information in a very direct and clear manner, and responded quickly to the differences that we needed to account for in the space. They arrived on-time, loaded in and set up quickly and were ready to play. They were flexible with the songs they played, catered to requests, got people out on the dance floor and kept them dancing all night. They were professional in their time offstage and were very courteous to my clients. They went above and beyond when after playing for a solid 1.5 hours straight during their last set, were absolutely willing to keep going after the client requested we not stop this rockin Party!
